Brian Cary’s Savvy Barbarian

Books

Because smart people

Life’s too short for boring books

I read a couple books a year, so they need to be great. Most highschool teachers should be flogged for forcing boring down their student’s throats.
I write the kind of books that I want to read: start interesting and get me hooked, make a great story and don’t scrimp on the epic ending.

Testimonials

Why buy one of my books? They’re fun.    I have a goal, that is to get you so hooked on the story that you’ll call in sick to work once you get started on reading one of my books. Don’t want to believe me because I’m the author and therefore biased?

No problem, here’s what other fans have to say.

Exciting yarn!

What a fun ride! Brian Cary has crafted a rollicking adventure-story that has the reader eagerly flipping pages and laughing out loud at the antics of his hazard-prone characters. Eschewing the oft-laborious pace of many fantasy stories, this tale engages the reader with real and consistent action, and doesn’t make him/her slog through chapter after chapter waiting for something to happen to advance the plot. Fantastic humor! I hope more adventures are in the works–I’ll be reading them for sure!

First book in the Tomes of Brynjar series!

Wulfric only wanted a cold beverage, a warm meal, and a hot tavern-maiden to pine over, instead he was trapped in a dungeon, surrounded by evil, and precariously low on torch-light.

In a world filled with snobbish elves and magical dangers, the Wailing Willow Tavern was supposed to be a warm reprieve during a cold winter journey. But Wulfric does what he always does—he gets himself into more trouble than his brother Dainn can keep him out of. Things escalate quickly as Wulfric, Dainn, and a grumpy dwarf named Angus are unwittingly thrust into an ancient mystery with sinister consequences.

A tenacious evil, which refuses to die, demands its ambitions be fulfilled, and it will sacrifice anyone to get what it wants. The lives of innocent humans, halflings, dwarves and elves hang in the balance. Yet death may not be the worst thing they face.

Inglorious heroes and bad decisions. What could go wrong?

Brian Cary knows how to write fantasy—intriguing characters, lots of action, and fun, quirky story telling. You’ll read ‘just one more chapter’ until you’ve lost hours of sleep just to find out what happens next.”
